Who are Ukrainian developers and why does the demand for them continue to grow all over the world?
To get a better understanding of this question, let’s first learn a little bit about Ukrainian history and culture. This may hold the key as to why these specialists are so hardworking, responsible, and constantly gloomy. 🙂
For almost all of the 20th century, Ukraine was a Republic of the USSR in regard to its rules and social fabric, thus influencing the mindset and mentality of its people. They were told the western world was taboo, that making mistakes was unacceptable, to put up with everything and keep silent, and that it was the way it was, and everything was going to be fine.
But there are always two sides to the coin. Despite everything that was propagated in the USSR, having a strong technical staff with a high level of education in physics, mathematics, and chemistry was always of utmost importance.
This has led to the development of a strong technical base and a large number of technical colleges and universities all over the former USSR. Ukraine became the epicenter of these events since it was a huge republic with a huge technical potential and a well-developed military industry.
Over time, Ukrainians continued to live under these rules, kept putting up quietly, but also learning continuously during this time.
Fortunately, the times have changed. Communism has fallen, all the republics have become independent, and it is now a turning point in the history of all humankind. The information age has come upon us.
My peers and I, those born around the collapse of the USSR, were brought up by the people of the past. We got our education in strong technical universities. From Hollywood films and western TV shows, we learned about democracy, equal rights, and interesting jobs in beautiful offices where people were well-paid and drank piña coladas with a stunning ocean view in the background.
Our ancestors gave us the upbringing and morals of that time and it has made us discreet and responsible for our words and actions, but also quite gloomy. We graduated from top universities and received the strongest technical education as a standard from the past, and foreign literature, Hollywood films, and open access to information made us dream of well-paid jobs and a beautiful life.
This mix has made us high-quality specialists, dreamers, but firstly people who are responsible for our words and actions.
Today in 2018, Ukrainian IT specialists are highly valued and continue to become more and more popular all over the world!
